Pressure washing is an important part of any painter’s process, especially in Portland. Due to the dampness in our lovely state, we see siding often covered in mold, fungi, and other organisms. Although many of these micro and macroscopic organisms are harmless to your siding, they can cause paint adhesion to fail. What does that mean to you? It means flaking. Pressure washing can wipe the years of grime off and give our painters a clean surface.
In addition to any mildew or mold being shed, power washing can also strip particulates from your siding. Downspouts and gutters often poor straight to the ground, which can splash silt and dirt onto your siding.
We’ve selected a pressure washing video from our favorite (90s) home remodeling expert, Bob Villa.
